Re: favorite episode of all time?
Fri, February 27, 2004 - 7:23 AMTough question. I think Emily is way up there (assuming I'm remembering the title correctly). Clyde Bruckman's is way up there, too, along with Home...
What about the funniest/most feel good episode? -

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Fri, February 27, 2004 - 11:12 AMi really loved Syzygy. gosh did i spell that right? its a tie between Syzygy and Bad Blood. i did the funny off the wall episodes!
shoot, they're all so damn good.
i must say, Home really really freak the shit out of me. well, X-files was freaky in general for me because at that time there wasn't much freaky stuff out there. we're talking about showering BEFORE the episode would start so i wouldn't have to close my eyes in the shower. hahahaha -

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Sat, February 28, 2004 - 3:27 PMLOL. That's hysterical! I've never heard of anyone who was so scared they wouldn't close their eyes in the shower.
I know what you mean about it being freaky though. You know that song they play in the convertible in Home? Even though it's a perfectly nice, cheery song, whenever I hear it, I get the heebie-jeebies. -

Re: favorite episode of all time?

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Fri, August 6, 2004 - 12:46 AMI gotta go with Closure. I have so many favorites.I think the entire series was usually the best television in the history of the medium. But Closure is so incredibly poignant, it reduces me to tears every single time I watch it. Anthony Heald gives the best performance I've ever seen from him as Harold Piller, the deeply troubled psychic who seems to be a victim of the forces that he communicates with. And Moby's "My Weakness" as the murdered children's ghosts play in the starlight just tears your heart out. I end up curled into a little ball every single time.
Christmas Carol is a close second, but Mulder is missing from that episode, so you are denied what is the core theme of the X-Files, the incredible, incendiary love that two opposites, Mulder and Scully share. In fact, love is what the X-Files is really about. That is the theme of the entire series. I have some other favorites, including Clyde Bruckman (the scene at the end with Scully holding his hand is magic), the usually overlooked Oubliette (love through shared victimhood), The Sixth Extinction three-partner ( Carter tearing away at every illusion the world holds sacred and the scene where Scully hisses at her rival and her betrayer "You're a liar. You're both liars"), the Patient X/Red and the Black two parter (those hopeful, almost embarassed smiles Scully and Cassandra share, soon followed by the most horrifying scene in network television history), This Is Not Happening (when Scully shrieks that, who can keep a dry eye?), the Providence/Provenance two-parter (Scully fighting to protect her baby from his would-be killer and then mercilessly interogating him as he bleeds to death from the multiple gun shot wounds she inflicted- maybe you have to be a parent to understand the power of that moment)- gods, how many all-time greats can one series boast?
There never has been and probably never will be a show a fraction as great as the X-Files.

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Sat, July 24, 2004 - 5:45 PMoh, i love the one where scully gets a tatoo, i love the one where the guy morphs into a girl and kills people, and i love the one where mulder meets this girl he knows from a past life.. it's like a civil war thing... i'm sorry i can't remember the names and am too lazy to look them up right now -

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Sun, July 25, 2004 - 7:47 PMNever Again - is the episode with Scully getting a tattoo. it's so sad at the same time because she is just depressed throughout the whole episode. "mulder, how come i don't have a desk?" so sad! :( good personal episode
Gender Bender - the morphing into girl/ boy. that's another great one too! it's interesting how that one person was so in love with the outside world that he didn't want to be the person he was, poor thing!
Field Where I Died - that's another great "getting to know the character's" episode. i thought it was great when Mulder is told that Scully is to only be his friend and Scully has such an intense look on her face - damn, Gillian is great! -

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Thu, July 29, 2004 - 7:19 AMyes yes yes!!! you rock!!! I liked it that Scully had a attitude and a wild side showing through a bit, ya know? and, well.. isn't that also the one where she's wearing a white tee shirt and pumping gas with some shades on? just looking so cool?? Yes, it was sad.. I guess.. I'm a Scully fan and it was a Scully ep <BG>
Yeah, Gender Bender (seems like an easy enough one to rememeber, I have to tell you, I thought it was very intense between Scully and that guy ..and whew..Mulder was NOT a happy camper
and Field where I died...oh, it breaks my heart..but I thought there was just great acting throughout. Yes Gillian is great!! (dancing a dance <G>)

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Thu, July 29, 2004 - 3:26 PMoh, i am a big Scully fan myself! she totally kicks ass! i love that she's so assertive and when she's caught off guard its such an intersting moment... like we see that she can be vulnerable at times and needs confirmation that everything will be alright. *sigh* she's one tough cookie!
oh geez, i LOVE it when Mulder has that "get off my woman" look. it's so priceless... same goes for Scully. in the episode "Fire" Mulder's old "friend" comes on strong and Scully stands there like... "uh, and who are you cause he is mine!" hahahah too funny!
i'm still doing an x-files marathon, well, sorta... 1 episode a night! yay! -

Re: favorite episode of all time?
Thu, July 29, 2004 - 5:07 PModdly enough, I wasn't into it when it first came on, then somehow I ended up watching 4 eps a day in new orleans HAHAH made a believer out of me.. I posted one of my favorite Scully pix.. and you know.. that cockroach ep.. I was thinking at different times, Scully was a acting a little jealous of Bambi... not in an obvious way but in a her-name-is-bambi?----doctor-bambi???? kind of way haha I don't know, I didn't feel it this last time, but I certainly did before -
